Bridges Named Interim Principal

T.R. Sanders Elementary School is excited to announce that Mrs. Shontelle Bridges was named the Interim Principal of the school at a board meeting in October. She was serving as the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Coordinator for the school.

New Packet Pickup Hours

Note: The building will be closed for maintenance on Friday, September 25, so we will be open for packet pickup and dropoff on Tuesday, September 29 7:30am - 3:30pm in addition to Sunday and Monday.

Digital Family Reading Night

Sanders will host a Digital Family Reading Night via Zoom On Thursday, September 17 at 6pm. Please join us for an hour of hands-on literacy based activities from the comfort of your home!

Zoom Issues

Zoom is currently experiencing and dealing with outages accross the country. We, at Sanders Elementary School, are working as hard as we can to get our teachers and students back online.

New Jersey Author Donates Books to Students

Gwyn English Nielsen, a New Jersey author, former teacher, and mother, was scheduled to come read a book to students at Sanders, but then the Coronavirus hit. Ms. Nielsen taught English and Communications at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School and has written four books.

MSDH Announces Pandemic EBT Program

Recently Mississippi was approved to participate in the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Program (P-EBT). This program provides benefits to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and non-SNAP households for children who have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to pandemic-related school closures.

Missing Report Cards? Come Pick Them Up

Didn’t get your report card in the mail? It’s likely it came back to the school. We are open from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. If these hours don’t work for you, call us and we can schedule a way to get it to you.

Update: Summer School Hours

Below is the weekly schedule for summer school online sessions, which start Monday, June 8 and will continue for eight weeks. Sessions will be held using Google Meet and will be recorded so students can view them later.

Update: Times for Summer School Packet Pickup

Summer school packets can be picked up at the following times this week. Pickup is in Building C. We encourage you to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Day Times Wednesday, June 3 9:30am - 1:30pm Thursday, June 4 1:30pm - 5:30pm Friday, June 5 9:30am - 1:30pm A hotline has been setup for summer school queries.
